Publishing Your RealSatisfied Online Ratings: Feeds, Plugins and Widgets

RSS Feed-ratings

Publishing your RealSatisfied ratings and testimonials is one of the best ways to build your business online. It keeps your current clients informed of your customer satisfaction commitment, and builds your brand awareness to future clients who may be ready to reach out to email, or text, or even call you.

One of the biggest benefits of using RealSatisfied is how simple we make it to share, or syndicate, the customer service ratings and testimonials that are the byproduct of our customer satisfaction surveys. Why? Because we built our syndication on the most open way of sharing information on the web – RSS.

If you’re not familiar with RSS, it officially stands for Rich Site Summary, but is most commonly called “really simple syndication.” RSS is the most common standard for sharing information between websites, and RSS is accessible to everyone. In fact, any website provider who can’t use it, or hasn’t already implemented options for RSS, is likely not worth hiring. So, let’s take a look at how it can work for you.

vanity keyThe key to all of our feeds and widgets is what we call your “Vanity Key.”

It is conveniently displayed for you below your profile information, but it is also the last part of your agent profile URL. All of the Feeds & Widgets use this vanity key in some way to access your specific information and pull your approved content into the sites where you’ve placed the feed or widgets. They are located inside of your agent dashboard on the lower left hand side.

The RSS feed link and demo is found by clicking on the RSS button or the “Get It Here” link. You will see the content displayed with minimal formatting and the full URL to the RSS feed at the top of the demo page. You should be aware that anything you see on your public facing agent profile page is available in the RSS feed. The display of your RealSatisfied agent profile is built on this same data. This insures that we are only displaying the information you want us to display, and to act as an example of what you or your website provider could do with the feed.

feeds and widgetsThe RSS Feed provides you with complete control over the look and feel of the data displayed on your site or the site of the third party using the feed. Better Homes And Gardens Rand Realty agent profile pages use the RealSatisfied RSS feed to enhance their profiles with ratings and testimonial data. Even local REALTOR® Associations are using the RSS feed to enhance their profiles pages, like the agent profile pages at the Lexington-Bluegrass Association of REALTORS®.

If your site is built on the WordPress platform, you’ll likely be familiar with the concept of plugins. We have a WordPress plugin that will bring in your scores and testimonials to wherever you choose to place them on your site. Here is how Liv Real Estate implemented the plugin. The plugin will also work for companies using the office level RSS feed to pull in agent testimonials.

For non-Wordpress users, we have an easy to customize JavaScript widget option. Click on this link and you’ll be taken to a configuration tool that will allow you to choose one of the standard templates, or customize the look of your content to fit the design of your site. When you’re done, your code will be in the box on the bottom left of the tool. Be sure to copy 100% of the code in this box or the widget will not work when placed on your site.

Whether you choose to use the RSS feed, our WordPress plugin or our JavaScript Widget, you are always 100% in control of the information that is accessed by these methods. If you have further questions, just click on the help/support link found at the top of your RealSatisfied dashboard.
